As a long-term partner in the decorative crystal industry, the Austrian client required a cutting technology capable of handling multilayer diamond materials while maintaining flawless edge quality and maximizing material utilization. After evaluating multiple technologies, they selected YC WATERJET’s Max 5-axis waterjet cutting machine for its cold-cutting capability, exceptional precision, and flexible 3D processing performance.


Why Waterjet Cutting Is Ideal for Diamond Processing


Unlike laser or thermal cutting technologies, waterjet cutting generates no heat-affected zone (HAZ). This is especially important when processing fragile crystal laminates, decorative composites, and high-value diamond-pattern materials. Through waterjet processing, they were able to transform complex artistic concepts into finished products with sharp details, seamless joints, and consistent quality. Even highly detailed honeycomb and geometric patterns could be processed cleanly without damaging surrounding materials.
